We are an energetic group of Mackay locals who love what we do and have fun doing it.

We are committed to our community and to providing the best experience to all of our patients.

Dean Williamson
PRINCIPAL DENTIST
Born in Mackay in September 1989, I am proud to say that I am a sixth-generation Mackay Local.
I grew up in East Mackay, attended the Whitsunday Anglican School from grade one to twelve, and did all those things a kid can do growing up in this great region. Five years as an Air Cadet with our local squadron gave me great life skills, an exchange to Ghana, and an introduction to flying.
At school, I developed a passion for music with the help of some wonderful teachers and had fun performing in many concerts and eisteddfods.
My interest in dentistry was sparked by meeting a few local dentists who were at the top of their profession and loved their job. I was accepted into James Cook University's inaugural dentistry course in their new state-of-the-art facility in Cairns, and after a tremendous five years, I was honoured to receive the Henry Schein Award for Excellence in Clinical Dentistry.

Post-graduation I was fortunate to be offered a position at the Mackay Base Hospital Public Dental Clinic where I worked with some truly amazing people. It was fun, remarkably busy and, for me, a great learning environment. I then worked in private dental clinics in Mackay for some time before moving to the Sunshine Coast to extend my professional experience.

On a visit home, I saw that the Customs House was for sale. It did not take long for my partner Brad and I to decide that now was the time to start out on our own. Mackay was the place to be, and the fabulous Customs House would make a sensational practice venue.

It is extremely important to me that everyone who walks through our doors at the Customs House receives the best care possible. Practising dentistry is a career I enjoy immensely. My goal is to make every patient’s visit enjoyable and memorable.

Carly Featherstone
ASSOCIATE DENTIST
I was born in Mackay and completed schooling in Moranbah and Mirani. In year 10 for work experience, I was sent to a dental clinic. This is where I first met Dean and discovered my passion for dentistry. This work experience ignited my eagerness to pursue a career in the field.
I was fortunate to earn a school-based traineeship and completed my Certificate III in Dental Assisting, followed by a Certificate IV. During my time as a Dental Assistant, I always dreamt of one day becoming a Dentist. I committed myself to a long journey, studying parts of Medical Science and Oral Health Therapy before securing a spot in the Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree at James Cook University in Cairns.
During my training, I completed clinical placements at JCU, Mackay Base Hospital, and Northern Territory Health gaining invaluable experience. I am thrilled to be back in my hometown, beautiful Mackay!
Being in the dental industry since 2013 my passion lies within preventive dentistry, helping patients overcome any dental fears through gentle dentistry and achieving their dream smile. I am so excited to meet you and become your family and friend's dentist.
Family is especially important to me. I love visiting my parents' beautiful Scottish highland cows in Eungella and fishing the Whitsunday islands with my fiancé.

Iesha Muscat (née Walker)
ORAL HEALTH THERAPIST
I was born in Proserpine and raised in Mackay where I completed my schooling at both Victoria Park State School and Mackay State High School. During my time at high school, I was very interested in biology and human anatomy. This sparked my interest for a career in health care and, in particular, dentistry.
I completed my Bachelor of Oral Health at CQU in Rockhampton in 2015 and, since graduating, I have worked in Innisfail, Tully and Mackay. I spent the first 5 years after university working for the public dental service in schools before changing to private practice in 2020.
I love treating children and making their dental experience a fun and positive one. As an Oral Health therapist, I am also able to treat adults for simple fillings and cleaning appointments.
I had spent some time living and working on the Gold Coast before I returned home to Mackay to be closer to family and friends. My husband and I have a beautiful little girl and we love spending our free time camping, going on bush walks, swimming in creeks and going to the beach. We also have a dog called River.
I share very similar values to Dean when it comes to treating patients gently and with respect. I am super excited to be back home in Mackay and a part of the team in the amazing Customs House.

Terri Warhurst
DENTAL ASSISTANT /RECEPTIONIST
I’m so fortunate to be part of the Dean Williamson Dental team and I look forward to bringing my many years of experience to this amazing dental practice in the Mackay Custom House.

I was born and bred in Gympie where my dental assistant career started all those years ago. During my early career, I accomplished my certificate in Dental Assisting as well as Radiography.

Due to my husband working in the mines our family has lived in towns from Mt Isa, Hunter Valley and throughout the Mackay region. I have gained valuable knowledge and experience working in various dental practices along the way.

I really enjoy meeting and greeting patients with a friendly smile, making patients feel relaxed and comfortable in our dental environment, whilst supporting and guiding them in their dental journey.

I love working with a professional, friendly, kind, caring, highly motivated, proactive team just like the team at Dean Williamson Dental. The practice has modern technology and equipment that allow our team to deliver the best patient care possible.

Outside of work my interests are reading and camping with family and friends. I enjoy any social events and festivities that may arise with good old fashion fun and laughs.

I’ve always enjoyed the idea of having a career that helps people in some way. My goal every single day is to make our patients feel welcomed, confident, and comfortable in our practice.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with the people that I love most, my family and friends.
I am thoroughly excited to be working at Dean Williamson Dental and cannot wait to see you at your next appointment.

Bri Ingram
RECEPTIONIST/DENTAL ASSISTANT
I am so grateful to work at Dean Williamson Dental. The entire team are such amazing and caring people who allow me to share my skills to serve our patients the best way I can.
I was born and bred in Mackay. After finishing school, I did not think I would ever find a career path that I was passionate about. This all changed when I began dental assisting in 2016.
I am very fortunate to have gained a wealth of knowledge about dentistry during my years in the industry and am excited to expand my reception experience as your first point of contact.
Outside of work I enjoy time with friends, family, fishing, camping and spending time with my dog. I am a bubbly, compassionate and caring person who loves to laugh. I look forward to meeting you in the Mackay Customs House.
